What are the PropertyCasualty360 Workers' Comp Risk Management Award for Excellence?
The PropertyCasualty360 Workers' Comp Risk Management Award for Excellence honors outstanding loss control, safety and return-to-work programs from across the nation. The annual recognition highlights the importance of implementing effective workers' compensation risk management programs by spotlighting three programs that display ingenuity, collaboration and humanity with proven results.
Who is eligible for nomination?
Nominations are open to workers’ compensation risk management programs implemented by U.S.-based organizations. Nominated programs should have a compelling story to share about innovating workplace safety, managing costs, and improved outcomes.
When do nominations close for the 2025 Awards?
Nominations are open until May 5, 2025.
What information/data will I need to apply?
The complete nomination form, including all questions and word limits, is available for download here. Please note that this is for preparation purposes only. Final entries must be submitted online, via the nomination portal.
Submissions must include a high-resolution image of the company’s logo. All images must be in color, a minimum 300 dpi files and in .jpg format. Supplemental materials, such as files, charts, graphs, data, safety and training manuals, or links to public webpages or campaigns, are encouraged.
Nominations must clearly convey quantitative and qualitative results regarding the nominee’s impact and accomplishments. We ask submitters to support their entries and statements with backup information – we love facts and figures. Don’t just tell us the nominee’s accomplishments, show us by sharing a brief story that illustrates their achievements.

Is there a fee to nominate?
No. Submission to this recognition, as well as all of PropertyCasualty360.com's editorial content, is free.
Can I nominate a program as an external professional?
Submitters must work in the risk management department of a U.S. organization and be at least partially responsible for the firm’s workers’ comp program. Carriers and brokers, while not directly eligible as submitters, should encourage clients/policyholders to nominate.
My program was previously selected as a Workers' Comp Risk Management Award for Excellence winner. Can we apply again this year?
Programs that have been honored as a Workers’ Comp Risk Management Award for Excellence winner in the past five years, may not be nominated again this year. However, if your program was selected for the Award prior to 2020, it may be nominated again this year by including updated details and recent accomplishments that do not mirror previous submissions.

How and when will the 2025 winners be notified of their selection?
Editorial staff will send email notifications to the winners and their submitters in early June. Due to the high volume of nominations that we receive, only those selected will be notified.
How will the 2025 winners be recognized?
PropertyCasualty360 will recognize the three 2025 Workers' Comp Risk Management Award for Excellence winners with trophies on stage at the annual WCI Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference in Orlando, FL on August 17-20 2025. The winners will also be honored with a private, hosted dinner during the conference. The chosen programs will be profiled in a feature article on PropertyCasualty360.com and in a special print magazine distributed only at the WCI Educational Conference. In addition, the winners will gain recognition on PropertyCasualty360’s social channels and email newsletters, as well as the sponsors’ social channels and publications.
How does the judging process work?
Upon the submission deadline, PropertyCasualty360’s team of judges carefully reviews each nomination without bias. The judges work diligently to select the industry’s most impactful workers’ comp programs. The judges base their decisions on an array of factors in correlation with the awards’ criteria and consider each nominee's different accomplishments and contributions.
