Shannon Harjer serves as the Vice President of Claims for Quincy Mutual Group located in Quincy, Massachusetts. With 26 years of P&C experience, including 18 of those years at two of the top 10 mutuals in the country, she possesses exemplary experience as a Director, Vice President, and Chief Claims Officer. Her approach and methodology as a transformational leader, known to improve business outcomes by instituting new processes, cost management, implementing appropriate technology for the business, and cultivating employee engagement and development, continues to support her previous employees and business units to this day.
The depth of her familiarity with the industry offers her an expansive opportunity to share knowledge and experience with a broad network of fellows at Claim Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) where she is a regularly sought-after speaker on topics ranging from claims best practices and legal interpretation of insurance policies arising from lawsuits. Shannon is also an advisory board member and mentor through Rising Insurance Star Executives (RISE). There, she mentors younger insurance professionals aspiring to be insurance leaders in the areas of complex problem solving, executive presence, and basic leadership skills.
Her educational background includes a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Servant Leadership from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University. Shannon continues to excel educationally with executive certificates from MIT Sloan School of Management in the areas of Strategy & Innovation and Mastering Design Thinking. She holds several insurance designations including CPCU®, ARM®, and the AIC® along with a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
