Today, insureds are using facial recognition to unlock phones, driving semi-autonomous cars, calling drivers via smartphones, measuring heart rates with wearable technology and in some states, using legalized cannabis. While these developments make our personal lives easier, they raise a lot of questions for insurance carriers of all sizes as they contemplate coverage for everything from the sharing economy to cannabis.
